Getting here
Chez Bernard is at 38 Shore in Leith, Edinburgh EH6 6QU, on the quayside beside the Water of Leith, just along from the end of Bernard Street.
By tram: take the tram towards Newhaven and get off at The Shore, at the corner of Bernard Street and Constitution Street. Walk down Bernard Street to the water and we’re just along The Shore.
On foot: about fifteen minutes from the foot of Leith Walk. If you’re following the Water of Leith Walkway, it finishes right here at The Shore.

Do I need to book?
Walk-ins are always very welcome. For groups, or Friday and Saturday evenings, it’s worth booking a table online.
What are your opening hours?
We’re open seven days a week, from 12pm until midnight Sunday to Thursday, and until 1am on Friday and Saturday.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes. Dogs are very welcome at Chez Bernard, and they have their own little menu too.
Do you have a lunch offer?
Monday to Friday · 12pm–4pm: All our plats chauds for £8, served with a dressed side salad. See the food menu.
Can I order wine by the glass?
Yes — twenty-six wines by the glass, and more than ninety in all, with our house wines by the 500ml carafe too. See the wine list.
Can we hire the venue for a party?
Yes. We can give you your own section of the room for 15–50 guests, or the whole venue for 51–90, with buffet options. Private hire.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Please tell us when you order and we’ll talk you through the menu. We can adapt more than it lets on.
How do I get to Chez Bernard?
We’re at 38 Shore, beside the Water of Leith. The nearest tram stop is The Shore, at the corner of Bernard Street and Constitution Street, a few minutes’ walk away, on the line between the city centre and Newhaven.
